FAQ

The questions, answered.

The top 10 things people ask us about Snapitup — how it works, who handles money, what happens when something goes wrong.

№ 01

How does Snapitup actually work?

Snapitup is a managed resale marketplace. You list an item, a buyer reserves it, the buyer pays Snapitup directly, a courier picks it up from you and delivers to the buyer, then Snapitup pays you. You never share your address with the buyer and the buyer never ships money to a stranger.

№ 02

Is it safe? Will buyers know where I live?

No. Your exact pickup address is only shared with the courier — buyers see your district and town. No cash handoffs, no "meet me behind the gas station." The courier handles the only physical contact in the transaction.

№ 03

How do I pay as a buyer?

Card via Stripe, DigiWallet, an Atlantic Bank transfer with reference number, or cash on delivery for orders under BZD $300. Snapitup charges your card; the seller is paid by us after delivery confirms.

№ 04

What if my item doesn't arrive, or isn't what was described?

Open a dispute from the order page within 48 hours of delivery. We pause the seller's payout while a moderator reviews — usually within 24 hours. Refunds go back to the original payment method or your Snapitup wallet, your choice.

№ 05

Who actually delivers the items?

EZ Delivery for Belize City and the western districts, Tropic Air for fast delivery to the cayes, and Belize Water Taxi for cost-sensitive caye routes. Snapitup picks the cheapest option that meets the buyer's selected delivery window — you don't choose.

№ 06

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is quoted at checkout based on pickup district → delivery district + item weight. Typical BZ-city → BZ-city: BZD $10–18. BZ-city → San Pedro via Tropic Air: BZD $25–35. The full delivery + buyer-protection + GST breakdown is shown before you pay — never a surprise at the end.

№ 07

Can I sell anything I want?

Almost. We don't allow firearms, prescription medication, live animals, alcohol or tobacco, or anything that looks counterfeit. Brand-new items in retail packaging are also flagged — Snapitup is for second-hand household goods, not for power sellers. Every listing goes through human moderation before it appears publicly.

№ 08

When do I get paid as a seller?

After the buyer confirms delivery (or after 72 hours auto-confirm), your payout joins the next nightly batch. Basic-tier sellers receive funds on T+7 days; Verified sellers on T+48 hours; Trusted sellers on T+24 hours. You unlock Verified after 5 ratings averaging ≥ 4.4, and Trusted after 20 at ≥ 4.8.

№ 09

Can I cancel a reservation?

Yes, before the seller confirms it. Once the seller confirms and a payment window opens, you have the full payment window (typically 24 hours) to either pay or let it expire. Repeated unpaid reservations count as strikes — three within 30 days temporarily blocks new reservations.

№ 10

I'm in the US — can I send something to family in Belize?

Yes. Use the Snapitup gift flow: pay in USD on a Stripe-secure page, your recipient gets a text with a claim link, and they spend the equivalent BZD on anything in the marketplace with delivery to their door. No bank transfers, no Western Union queues, no per-item fees.
